apparently, the best night of my life happened and i missed it. okay…not so much missed it as wasn’t invited. have you ever been
stalking someone’s Facebook or instagram chatting with someone and they reference a party or event that you had no idea about? and either in that moment or in a sort of delayed, slow-mo version you realize you weren’t invited to what sounds like the best time ever? well, none of that happened. but this did:

Michael Bolton singing When a Man Loves a Woman (yep, thanks mom for my deep affection for that song) and PRINCE?!?!?!?!?! Prince. “dearly inebriated” Prince, y’all. see what i mean? sounds to me like the SNL 40th Anniversary show and that after party was perhaps the best night ever and it happened before i was cool enough to warrant an invite. i’m devastated.
but funny sketches help: (click for video)
were any of you there? know anyone who was? i have a couple friends who are definitely cool enough to have been invited and frankly, i’m too nervous to ask if they went. if they said yes my head might explode. seriously though, i must have listened to this story at least three times (yes, i played a 9 minute clip three times. to my credit, Jimmy tells the story really well). what an incredible experience that must have been. so many great musicians and comedians in one room, casually jammin’ out to each other’s music with no pretense, celebrating the casts and crews of a show that’s brought us so much joy for so many years. i just love that! kinda reminds me of another fun night i know of…
also, i’m curious, did Jimmy Fallon keep the $20 Tom Hanks gave him?
happy hump day, guys!
