Cory Booker, you’re my hero. (link)
Cory Booker literally saved a woman from a burning building. literally busted up in the house, on some i’m in a movie but no stuntman needed, found a woman, and carried her to safety. i knew i liked you, dude.
seriously, though. i had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Booker a few years ago, randomly, while he was on what seemed like the beginning of a date, with a very famous woman. (it was definitely a date. he introduced me to her and they proceeded to show me his Christmas present she’d given him moments before. it was definitely a date and she was lovely. i wonder whatever happened with that. they were so cute together.)
anyway, that night when we met, he talked to me like we were old friends. not like he was politically shaking hands and kissing babies, but genuinely interested in conversation. he’s a lovely man. and he’s done amaaaazing things for Newark. he works crazy hard for the people of his community. he keeps an honest and open dialogue going thru social media and by hitting the streets. and now, he’s literally saving lives. way to go, Cory Booker!
